Dedicatory Prayer

Dedicatory Prayer

Janell loves me. Yay! She adores me and only me. I am and will always
listen to and care for her the increasingly best I know how. Right now
for her I am writing a dedicatory prayer for our soon to be shared
home. In this prayer we will include the blessing on our home that the
Spirit will abound and all who enter will always show love and concern
for one another. Article of Faith 13; D & C 88:118-120; 2 Nephi 5:27;
That's a note Janell left on my iPod when I wasn't looking.

A prayer given to dedicate Janell and I's first home as husband and wife for our first Family Home Evening after we moved in together:

Our dear and loving Father in heaven,
This evening we join together in prayer to offer theel our gratitude
and to ask thee for a special blessing by the power of the Melchizedek
priesthood. This Saturday we experienced the powerful blessing to be
able to be sealed for time and all eternity in thy Holy Temple. We are
grateful that through the prophet Joseph Smith, the power to seal
families in heaven has been made available upon the Earth. We
recognize the wonderful privilege it is to be born into the covenant
and that those in our families before us set the example for us and
that our predecessors warmly received the missionaries and and
accepted their teachings of Christ and His modern prophets. We invite
thee to help us live those teachings in this home and to set such a
meaningful example for our future posterity. We ask the that those
covenants which we have made with thee will be the center of this home
and new family.
We pray, heavenly Father that this home will be a place of safety and
security for us. We ask thee to help us draw closer to one another in
this modest dwelling and to help this home to be filled with the
Spirit. We ask Thee that thou might help us show our gratitude for
this home to thee and my parents in the way we treat this dwelling.
We ask for thy guidance and blessing in our interactions with the
other tenants of this building that we might love them, serve them and
live in harmony with them without contention. Please help us to make
the most of our time here and to prepare to extend our family and move
on according to thy will.
This we pray in the name of thy son Jesus Christ.
Amen

Day 2

Day 2
Yesterday Janell and I were sealed in the Mount Timpanogos temple for
time and all eternity. My family struggled to make it there. My mom
came down a day early to buy food for the picnic lunch and make
platters. She must have really cared to do all that.
My dad, my brothers and papa Bert got stuck in Burley until really
late. When they got into town, they insisted on kidnapping me to go
get milkshakes late at night.
Naomi got there late too. She got a ride to Utah from Gwyn Barry who
picked up her friend Tina in Twin Falls to help with the picnic. They
then spent 2 1/2 hours in Ikea on the way there.

We were sealed in the Mt Timpanogos temple, sealing room six with
Victor L Walch as our sealer. I told him that he has a cool last name.
He remembered that he had performed a sealing for Janell's cousin only
a few weeks ago. Of course Janell looked beautiful in her wedding
dress.

This morning Janell and I read patriarchal blessings together in bed.
They we an inspired reminder that we are each other's sweetheart.
Through her work, Janell got a a free stay last night in a class
resort condo. We've had fun alone together here. We went over to the
park city lds visitors center and they gave us ice cream and we
watched church movies for an hour. Tonight we've made a blanket fort
out of the living room to sleep in at the condo.

Tomorrow we will go home to the triplex my parents bought where I've
turned the basement into a studio apartment. We will have to live
without a kitchen but we will have fun together.
