My Best Calligraphy Yet

A gentleman in our ward got a basketball signed by Jimmer to give to
his grandson. He was excited when he saw me practicing calligraphy at
Church. He asked me if I would write this on the basketball. Looks
like I did better than Jimmer. He also interviewed us for the ward
newsletter.

Fiddler on the Roof

Last year we went to Joseph and the Technicolored Dreamcoat at Emily Stoddard's work, Heritage School in Orem. They have an annual performance and I was looking forward to this next one the past year. I was excited to learn when this year's would be held from a co-worker before Emily had a chance to tell me. My co-worker, Dianne, is the neighbor to the director. We went to the free night, what turned out to be the dress rehersal, and donated by buying concessions. That day in April after I got home from work, quick ate dinner and packed soup and a sandwich for Victor, I hurried to pick up Victor from campus and supprised him with taking him to the Fiddler on the Roof. 

There was a bit too much fog produced at the time Papa fabricated his dream, and the acting was not quite as good as last year, but we enjoyed the play over all. I especially loved explaining what was happening throughout the play to Victor for a change, rather than him explaining most other things of this nature to me. A sad story with good music, best friends make the best company.

Substitute CTR 6 Teachers: Welcome to Primary

Today we taught the CTR 6 class in primary.  We were substitutes for our neighbors.  When we first got married and moved into our ward, we told the Bishop we would like to serve in the primary, when he asked for suggestions about where we might belong.  We taught about the Gift of the Holy Ghost by having them lead each other through an obstacle course.  One of them was blindfolded with Victor’s tie while the other whispered directions (pointing a lot too :).  Especially at six years old, they are really good at understanding why the Holy Ghost is so important.

On Friday we were proxies for sealings in the temple.  The sealer talked about his experiences sealing children to their parents and how thin the veil is for them there and how much more easily they see whole assembly participating in the ordinance.

Oz: The Great and Powerful

At work I got gift-cards for the movies.  We went to see Oz: The Great and Powerful and really enjoyed it.  We can hardly wait for the matching Disneyland ride.  Victor insisted on getting the extra large bowl of popcorn, shown below.  This is a great example of how much Victor and my dad would get along well watching Star Trek together.

On the way out of the theater, Victor showed off his student ID.

Since it was conference weekend, we set up a tent in the back yard and went camping at home.  When family comes to visit, we have a spare room for them, see!
