Janell and Victor Meet at Trek by Jack Lythgoe

Though they've only been married for nine months, Janell and Victor Moxley have known each other since high school when they met on a Stake-sponsored Pioneer Trek in Wyoming. Victor made the first "move" by asking her for her phone number!

Janell, the Provo Peak 10th Ward Sacrament Meeting chorister, graduated a year ago and now works in American Fork to help support her and Victor. She was born in Germany since her father was stationed there in the US Army. To be exact, she told this reporter that she was delivered while her mother lay on a hospital gurney awaiting a space in a bed. Before she was ready for school, her parents had moved to Fruitland, ID. She was the second birth of eight children, four girls and four boys.
Although her family would move several times, they stayed close to the Bosie area. She reported that one summer she was hired by a family in Sugar City to work as a gardener, and she thought she had "died and gone to heaven" when she walked though the mud barefoot!
A year of her schooling was spent in drawing lessons at the Arts West private school. She also was home-schooled one year. After high school she enrolled in BYU Idaho in Rexburg-and she finished in the next four years! She is now employed as a secretary at Myler Disability.
Victor was born in Robins,IA, the oldest in his family, with a sister and two brothers.his birth city had no hospital, so his father hired a nurse to birth his son in their home. When they went to the county office to get a birth certificate, he was told
Victor was the first one born in that city in the past 100 years! The family later moved to Texas before set tiling in Boise  ID. Victor participated in tennis and wrestling for his exercise and worked on the yearbook staff as a photographer. He finished high school as a Vocational EMT (Emergency Medical Technician . One of his other activities included Perfect Procedure, a form of debate.
After finishing high school, he earned a scholarship in "leadership" at Washington State University, which is next to the Idaho border. After his freshman year he served a mission in Slovenia for 8 months and 16 at the Provo MTC working in the call center.
Victor now enjoys rock climbing, exploring caves, kayaking, and collecting and appraising "rare" coins for his friends.
He has served in his previous wars as the emergency prep coordinator, ward missionary, and Elders Quorum President.
Jamel has held many positions dealing with music: Sacrament pianist, music leader, music coordinator, and choir director. She has also served as a Relief Society greeter, Visiting Teacher Coordinator, and producer of the R.S. bulletin. On the side, she likes to play badminton, dislikes"whining" and hipocracy, loves fresh air, and Victor laughing at her.
When the couple married last July,they passed over those temples in Idaho and northern Utah and selected nearby Mount Timpanogas Temple. Of course, all those others were closed for cleaning and Pioneer Days!
Victor is on track to graduate in December with a Bio Statistics degree. He hopes to attend a university in the east, maybe Virginia, for graduate work. He hopes to end up with a job in Public Health.
