Labor Day Weekend
Last weekend for labor day, Janell and I went to Wyoming for labor day to visit my grandma and Mark and Cheryl. We stayed at Mark and Cheryl's and even my grandma worked harder than I could have to
accommodate Janell's allergies. The drive there was fun and on Sunday we went on a drive to sinks canyon. My uncle Mark bought a ticket to a raffle for a nice picture of Bam Bam the local ram. The ram had been
a nuisance since he started seeing his reflection in the mirrors and chrome bumpers of cars and charging them. Bam Bam was relocated before Janell and I visited and Mark won the framed picture. Cheryl
says we get it in their will. On the trip back we had fun visiting South Pass city, an old mining
ghost town. The six hour drive also took ten hours because of traffic and construction.
During this week the relief society sent us a deal for really cheap season passes to the local waterpark and arcade. I'm excited about being able to go there for my birthday this week if our passes have
come. The weather is still warm so the water might be open on the weekend.
Janell might already have a job. We'll see. It would be starting at the phones for a disability law office.
We also bought our first car. We found a small little Ford Ranger. We got it for about half of the blue book cost. The check engine light is on but it passed emissions and the shop said it wasn't anything to
worry about. Janell's taking it to get licensed this week.

Back and Ready for More
Janell and I returned from our honeymoon and I had another week off school. I used it as an opportunity to work full time and to get caught up with to dos around the triplex. I patched the holes Papa Bert put in the walls in the bathroom and installed a pair of cabinets, one with a sink and the other over the toilet.
This week a lot of my bosses tenants moved out and were replaced. Some of them left a rotted hole in the floor that I patched up.

Reception
Victor got good grades as he finished his semester. We had a
fantastic reception. Everyone had ideas about what we should be doing
at the reception (ie cutting the cake, daddy daughter dance, stand in
line) but nobody seems to have actually put much thought into when
we'd be doing any of those activities. Some seem to have imagined us
dancing and cutting cut while simultaneously standing in line greeting
family friends. It was wonderful that so many came. The latter,
standing in line while dancing, we actually tried and some friends
didn't seem to mind greeting us while we danced but others were not
amused. After the reception we helped clean up and packed for our
honeymoon trip to Oregon coast.
Our siblings looked good in their matching ties and dresses.
Sunday we went to church together at Grace Assisted Living.
Victor's dad let us borrow his truck to take a small sailboat to the
Oregon coast for our honeymoon.
We took the boat sailing on a lake and the wind was too strong to get
very far from the dock. When we tried it on the ocean, we had trouble
getting past the breakers. A nice man from Olympia Washington helped
us push the boat into the water. We had fun rowing and sailing the
boat up to the breakers and then the waves tossed us around and filled
the boat with water. We were pushed back into shore by the waves. As
we were pumping the water out on shore, Dave came back with two big
buckets and helped us bail. We tried again and as we hit the breakers
we got tossed around again as we sailed. After a few more minutes of
sailing a big wave hit us and broke the dagger board. It turned out
the board was rotten within its new layer of white paint. Dave helped
us pack up and we took off all done with the excitement. We brought
the boat to Steve and Ruth Bascom's where hopefully it will sell
better than in Meridian Where it has been listed all summer.
We also had fun touring several cheese factories and Janell even found
one that claimed to be French, however very little of its cheese was
actually French varieties. We went to a shipwreck on the beach too.
Friday night we opened and sorted wedding gifts. Seviah was much more
excited for us to open them than we were.

Two Weeks

Yesterday we went to the temple and went through an endowment session and stood in the prayer circle together for the first time as husband and wife. We finished our thank you card design for wedding thank yous.
This semester I took an interior design class and finished it on Thursday. (Not interior decorating, which was included some in the class), this was focused more on structure and practical things that I would need to know for remodeling. Living here in the basement of my parents rental property, where we have been remodeling a lot ourselves, the class has really helped.
We got the wedding pictures back this week. They are awesome! We're still going through them and need to pick good ones to have printed to display at our reception. We'll need to finish that tonight. Janell's mom is working on having a nice cheesecake for our reception wedding cake. It'll be tasty and Janell should be able to eat lots of it too. Being married is too fun to put into words. Now I also don't have to drive Janell back to her apartment when it gets late.
For our second family home evening we had a lesson on mighty prayer from the Referral Center and made a list of things we are fasting and praying for. Then we went outside and played Rummikub on the lawn. We almost lost time tiles to the lawn mower later, but Janell raked and found them.
